Izglītības apmaiņas programmas Socrates/Erasmus ietekme uz studentu vērtīborientāciju maiņu Eiropas integrācijas kontekstā. Latvijas gadījuma analīze

Abstract

Maģistra darbs izstrādāts par tēmu „Izglītības apmaiņas programmas Socrates/ERASMUS ietekme uz studentu vērtīborientāciju maiņu Eiropas integrācijas kontekstā. Latvijas gadījuma analīze.” Darba mērķis ir aplūkot, vai ES veicināšanas pasākumi izglītības politikas jomā, kas balstās uz finansiālo atbalstu konkrētām ES ietvaros izveidotām programmām ar mērķi veicināt ES integrāciju, ietekmē indivīdu vērtīborientāciju maiņu no materiālistiskajām uz post-materiālistiskajām vērtībām. Lai mērķi īstenotu, darbā aplūkots vērtīborientāciju maiņas teorētiskais pamatojums, ietverot post-materiālisma teoriju, kā arī aplūkota integrācijas teorija – sociālais konstruktīvisms. Šajā darbā kā starpkultūru mijiedarbības veids tiek aplūkota izglītības apmaiņas programma ERASMUS, kas ir Eiropas Komisijas izveidota programma studentiem, pasniedzējiem un institūcijām. Aplūkojot ERASMUS programmas izveidi, var secināt, ka tā ir politisks lēmums, un programma ir instruments Eiropas institūciju rokās. Lai konstatētu ERASMUS programmas ietekmi uz studentu vērtīborientāciju maiņu, darbā raksturoti programmas formālie priekšnoteikumi un neformālie pasākumi, kas to veido, velkot saikni ar post-materiālistiskajām vērtībām stimulējošu vidi. Izmantojot ERASMUS Student Network ikgadējos pārskatus, veikts ERASMUS studentu kopīgais raksturojums un ieskicētas post-materiālisma iezīmes. Pievēršoties Latvijas gadījuma analīzei, vispirms veikts Latvijas sabiedrības raksturojums, atsaucoties uz World Values Survey apkopotajiem datiem par Latvijas sabiedrībā dominējošajām vērtībām. Tomēr, lai konstatētu vērtīborientāciju maiņu kā notikušu parādību, darba ietvaros organizētas piecas fokusgrupu diskusijas, kurās studenti atzinuši programmas ietekmi uz viņu vērtīborientāciju maiņu no materiālistiskajām uz post-materiālistiskajām vērtībām. Līdz ar to tiek pierādīta darbā izvirzītā hipotēze, ka tādi programmas radītie priekšnoteikumi kā finansiālais atbalsts un programmas vide, veicina studentu vērtīborientāciju maiņu no materiālistiskajām uz post-materiālistiskajām vērtībām. Papildus šajā darbā izvirzītajai hipotēzei konstatēts, ka post-materiālistisko vērtību dominance ERASMUS programmas studentu starpā, kas nāk no kopumā materiālistiskākām sabiedrībām, nav uzskatāma par paaudzes iezīmi, bet gan finansiālā atbalsta un ERASMUS programmas vides ietekmē mainītām vērtīborientācijām.

Aplūkojot studentu vērtīborientāciju maiņu Eiropas integrācijas kontekstā, fokusgrupu diskusijās iegūtais materiāls liecina par post-materiālistiskajām vērtībām kā ERASMUS programmas studentu kolektīvās identitātes saturu.

The theme of the Master Paper is „The Influence of Student Exchange Program Socrates/ERASMUS on Students Value Orientation in the Context of European Integration. Case Study of Latvia." The aim of the paper is to study how the EU promotion measures in the field of education policy, based on financial assistance to definite programs developed within the EU with the aim to promote the EU integration, influences changes in individual's value orientation from material to post-material values. The theoretical background of changes in value orientation covering the theory of post-materialism and as well, the theory of integration - social constructivism, are studied to reach the aim. The present paper views the student exchange program ERASMUS (The European Commission program for students, lecturers and institutions) as an intercultural interaction. The deeper analysis leads to the conclusion that the development of the ERASMUS program is a political decision, therefore, it serves as a measurement of European institutions. To define the influence of ERASMUS on the students’ value orientation the author has described the formal preconditions and non-formal activities that form the program building up the environment of post-material values. On the basis of ERASMUS Student Network annual reports the overall description of ERASMUS students and post-material characteristics are outlined. At the beginning of the case study of Latvia the society is described on the basis of data on prevailing values in Latvia society of the World Values Survey. However, to ascertain changes in value orientation as fait accompli five discussions of focus groups have been organized. Within discussions students recognized the program’s influence on their value orientation from material to post-material values. Thus the hypothesis of the paper is proved - such program’s preconditions as financial support and environment promotes changes in students` value orientation from material to post-material values. Furthermore, along with the hypothesis it is realized that the prevalence of post-material values among ERASMUS students that in general come from material societies cannot be considered as characteristic of the generation but as changed value orientation. These changes have been developed by the financial support and ERASMUS environment.

Considering changes in students' value orientation in the context of European integration the material acquired within discussions of focus groups indicates post-material values as content of ERASMUS students’ collective identity.
