Each host influences the content of a broadcast, and that is the issue here. This thesis is based on the theories of Shoemaker and Reese vis-à-vis levels of influence on media content, as well as on the writings of other communications specialists about the factors which characterise the personalities of TV hosts and about their professional roles.
The author has conducted in-depth interviews to determine the factors which characterise the personalities of the hosts. Content analysis has been used to analyse the way in which the hosts of the programme understand their professional role and the effect which this has on the content of the broadcast.
The study ahs revealed the extent to which hosts of "100 Grams of Culture" influence media content, also allowing the reader to understand the way in which hosts of shows have an influence on media content as such.
