Bakalaura darba nosaukums ir Latvijas Universitātes studentu attieksme pret jaunajām reliģiskajām kustībām.
Katru gadu pasaulē palielinās jauno reliģisko kustību skaits, kā arī jau esošajām kustībām pievienojas ar vien vairāk sekotāju. Ir cilvēki, kas uzskata, ka jauno reliģisko kustību izplatīšanās ir problēma, jo tās apdraud apkārtējo sabiedrību. Jauno reliģisko kustību pretinieki uzskata, ka tās izkrāpj naudu no tās biedriem, manipulē ar viņu prātu, seksuāli izmanto bērnus. Lielākoties sabiedrības locekļi par jaunajām reliģiskajām kustībām uzzina no masu medijiem, no kā galvenokārt veidojas attieksme pret tām. Sabiedrībā bieži vien izplatīti stereotipi, informācija par jaunajām reliģiskajām kustībām tiek pasniegta „dzeltenajā” presē, sensācijās un negācijās.
Šī pētījuma galvenais mērķis ir noskaidrot, kāda ir studentu attieksme pret jaunajām reliģiskajām kustībām. Pētījuma apakšmērķi ir noskaidrot, vai pastāv atšķirības starp teologu un pārējo studiju programmas studentu attieksmi pret jaunajām reliģiskajām kustībām, vai studentiem, kuriem ir saistība ar jaunajām reliģiskajām kustībām, ir pozitīvāka attieksme pret tām. Kā arī noskaidrot, kas galvenokārt veido attieksmi pret jaunajām reliģiskajām kustībām.
Mērķis tika sasniegts, anketējot Latvijas Universitātes pilna laika klātienes bakalaura programmu 2. kursa studentus.
Kopumā pētījumā iegūtie rezultāti parāda, ka lielākā daļa pilna laika klātienes studenti nepieder pie kādas jaunās reliģiskās kustības. Galvenokārt sabiedrības attieksmi pret jaunajām reliģiskajām kustībām veido masu mediji un tradicionālā baznīca, šī attieksme tiek veidota lielākoties negatīva.
Lielākoties studenti uzskata, ka jaunās reliģiskās kustības manipulē ar cilvēka prātu un izkrāpj naudu no tās locekļiem. Vismazāk respondenti piekrīt apgalvojumam, ka jaunajās reliģiskajās kustībās tiek seksuāli izmantoti bērni.
Pētījuma pirmā hipotēze – Latvijas Universitātes studentu attieksme pret jaunajām reliģiskajām kustībām ir vairāk negatīva nekā pozitīva – apstiprinājās. Iegūtie dati atklāj, ka visi trīs komponenti, kas veido attieksmi - afektīvā reakcija, kognitīvā reakcija un uzvedības reakcija, – lielākoties parāda to, ka studentu attieksme ir negatīva.
Pētījumā izvirzītā otrā hipotēze - galvenais studentu attieksmes veidotājs pret jaunajām reliģiskajām kustībām ir masu mediji – arī apstiprinājās, jo iegūtie dati parāda, ka visvairāk sabiedrības attieksmi pret jaunajām reliģiskajām kustībām veido masu mediji un tradicionālā baznīca.

Every year the number of new religious movements increases as well as more and more followers join to existent movements. In our society there are people who has an opinion that spreading these movements is a problem an it endangers our society. The oponents express an opinion that the religious unions cheat out money from their members, manipulates their mind, sexualy impose children. Stereotypes are constantly spread, information is provided in tabloid press in form of sensations and mostly negative. People establish a certain concept and wherewith an attitude to new religious movements. Althgouth presumably only some certain kinds of the movements are dangerous and endanger society.
The objective of the bachelour paper is to study the attitude of students to new religious movements. The subobjectives are to study whether there are differences between the attitude of theology students and the students of other study programmes; whether the students who collaborate with new religious movements 0has more positive attitude to them; what mostly create the attitude to new religious movements.
The objective was being attained questionnairing the full-time bachelour programme students of the University of Latvia.
The results obtained show that the major part of full-time students does not belong to any new religious movement. The attitude of our society mostly is created by mass media and the conventional church and the attitude is mainly created negative. The students opinion mostly is that the new religious movements cheat out money from their members and manipulates their mind. The least respondents agree the statement that children are sexualy imposed.
The first hypothesis – the attitude of students of the University of Latvia to new religious movements is more negative than positive – has verified. The results show that all the three comonents which establish attitude – affected reaction, cognitive reaction and behavioural reaction – are mostly negative.
The second hypothesis – the main tool which creates the attitude of students to new religious movements is mass media – has verified. The obtained results show that, to the opinion of the respondents, the attitude to new religious movements is mainly created by mass media and the conventional church.
