Bakalaura darba tēma ir „Latvijas komercbanku produktu klāsta attīstība”. Bakalaura darba mērķis ir uz Latvijas komercbanku produktu klāstu analīzes datu pamata izstrādāt Swedbank un SEB banku produktu klāsta priekšlikumus dažādām klientu grupām.
Latvija ir no viena trijām Baltijas valstīm, kur ir vislielākais komercbanku skaits. Jau no 1992. gada Latvijā bija reģistrētas 50 komercbankas, bet jau 1993. gadā to skaits pieauga līdz 63.
The subject of this bachelor’s paper is „The development of services provided by commercial banks (hereinafter – banks) in Latvia”. The goal of bachelor`s paper is the Latvian commercial banks product range analysis of data for the development of Swedbank and SEB proposals range of products for different customer groups.
Latvia has the most banks among Baltic countries. Even in 1992 there were 50 banks registered in Latvia, which grew to 63 in 1993. Although thereafter and up until 2000 there was a tendency for the number of banks to decrease, reaching only 22 banks.
This paper is structured into three chapters. In the First Chapter there is reviewed information on the services provided by the SEB bank to natural and legal persons. The services offered to natural and legal persons are reviewed separately. In the Second Chapter information on services offered by the Swedbank to natural and legal persons are reviewed. As in the First Chapter, the services offered to natural and legal persons are reviewed separately. In the Third Chapter the results of the aforementioned operations, i.e., services provided are reviewed, in order to achieve a better insight in the two banks mentioned herein. In order to observe the development, all services provided by banks have been reviewed.
The main conclusions of the author within this work are: through the development of technologies and living standards people in their daily transactions give preference to payment cards (both credit debit cards). Cash is chosen in cases where there is no possibility to pay by a payment card. This increase in the use of payment cards is tied to the availability of ATMs and the ease of use of online banking. The banks reviewed in this paper are with the largest capital and the number of ATMs and clients.
The author has the following suggestions: the banks should pay more attention to the percentage points of deposits, because many would prefer larger gains from the deposits. This would result in the increase of the deposit portfolio of the banks, which would in turn improve the deposits to credits issued ratio.
