Studentu lasītprasmes pilnveide akadēmiskajā angļu valodā

Abstract

Lai sasniegtu labus studiju rezultātus, studentiem ir nepieciešamas vairākas svarīgas lasīšanas iemaņas: ātra vārdu atpazīšana, vārdu krājuma pilnveidošana, teksta struktūras pārzināšana un stratēģiskās lasīšanas prasmes. Tāpēc šajā bakalaura darbā ir pētīta studentu lasītprasmes pilnveidošana akadēmiskajā angļu valodā. Darba mērķis ir analizēt individuālās mācīšanās stratēģijas un efektīvas lasīšanas iemaņu nozīmi. Pētījuma veikšanai ir izmantota teorija, kā arī analizētas akadēmiskās angļu valodas pasniedzēju un studentu aizpildītās aptaujas anketas. Iegūtie rezultāti pierāda, ka vairākums studentu neizmanto lasīšanas stratēģijas un nav informēti par to esamību. Bakalaura darbā tiek secināts, ka augstākās izglītības iestādēs jāvelta vairāk laika lasīšanas stratēģiju mācīšanai un apgūšanai.

In order to succeed in the learning process, the learners need to have important reading abilities: rapid word recognition, vocabulary development, text-structure awareness, and strategic reading. Therefore, the present Bachelor Paper explores the issue of developing learners’ reading skills in English for Academic Purposes. The purpose of this research was to investigate the role of individual learning strategies as well as the effective reading skills. The present research has been conducted on the basis of analytical and selective study of the available theory and the analysis of the questionnaires for EAP teachers and students. The obtained results proved that most students neither apply any specific reading strategies nor are aware of them. It could be concluded that it is necessary to spend a lot of time on teaching and learning reading strategies in the higher educational establishments.
