Vizuālās informācijas meklēšanas dienestu izmantošana

Abstract

Bakalaura darba pētījums ir par vizuālās informācijas meklēšanas dienestu izmantošanu, to meklēšanas paņēmieniem un precizitāti. Pētījuma mērķis ir noskaidrot, cik aktīvi studenti izmanto vizuālos meklēšanas dienestus un kādam nolūkam, vai vizuālā meklēšana atvieglo informācijas meklēšanas procesu. Pētījumā ir izmantotas gadījuma analīze, kontentanalīze, anketēšana un intervēšana. Vizuālā meklēšana ir jauns meklēšanas veids, kurš sniedz pārskatāmāku rezultātu attēlošanu, bet lietotāji to izmanto reti, jo, iespējams, nezina šāda veida meklēšanu un, ja arī zina, tad īsti neprot šo meklēšanu pielietot praktiski. Lietotāji ir pieraduši lietot tradicionālās metodes, jo nezina par vizuālās meklēšanas paņēmienu, bet daži informācijas lietotāji minēja, ka vizuālo meklēšanu izmanto reti, uzskata, ka tā sniedz labākus rezultātus un ir vieglāk uztvert informāciju, izmantojot dažādus vizualizētus rīkus.

The Bachelor paper researches the use of visual information retrieval engines, their methods of search, and their preciseness. The aim of the study is to research the degree of active use of visual information retrieval engines among students, the intention of their use, and whether the visual information retrieval facilitates the overall process of information retrieval. Methods used in the research – case analysis, content analysis, questionnaire, and interview. The visual information retrieval is a new type of information retrieval that offers more foreseeable results, however it is used rarely; the reason for it may be that the users are unaware of the existence of this type of retrieval service, or that they lack the knowledge of its practical application. Many users are accustomed to applying the traditional methods, for they are unaware of this method; still there are information users who admit that the method of visual retrieval allows them to obtain better results, and that the information presented by various visual tools is perceptible more easily.
