| dc.description.abstract | Bakalaura darba mērķis ir noskaidrot, kā Latvijas medijos tiek reprezentēti Latvijas un Igaunijas salīdzinājumi laika posmā no 2011. gada 24. februāra līdz 2012. gada 24. februārim.
Darba teorētiskajā daļā tiek aplūkota reprezentācija (S. Hols, F. Ankersmits, K.Kolbrūka, Dž. Poters, N. Lūmanss) un salīdzinājumu teorija (L. Festingers, S. Giumonds, T. Musveilers, K. Epštūds, S. Skačers). Veikts hronoloģisks pārskats, salīdzinot Latvijas un Igaunijas attīstības vēsturi.
Ar kvantitatīvās kontentanalīzes, diskursa analīzes un strukturētās intervijas pētniecības metodes pielietošanu, izpētīts, kādas ir visbiežāk sastopamās Latvijas un Igaunijas salīdzinājumu reprezentācijas žurnālos „Ir” un „Sestdiena”, kādi diskursi visbiežāk dominē abu valstu salīdzinājumos, kā arī, kura no valstīm tiek reprezentēta kā veiksmīgāka.

| dc.description.abstract | The aim of this bachelor thesis is to clarify how the comparisons of Latvia and Estonia are represented in Latvian magazines "Ir" and "Sestdiena" during 24.02.2011. and 24.02.2012.
In the theoretical part the author describes the concept of representation (S. Hall, F. Ankersmit, C. Colebrook, J. Potter, N. Luhmann) and the meaning of comparision (S. Giumond, L. Festinger, T. Mussweiler, K. Epstude). Insight has been gained of the latest history of Latvia and Estonia - how both countries have developed.
The empirical part is based on three research methods - discourse analysis, quantitative content analysis and semi- structured interview. The results of this research provide the information about the most common discourses and representations which have been found in the comparisons between Latvia and Estonia.
