Latviskās nacionālās identitātes saistību ar latviešu populāro mūziku šis darbs apskata, aplūkojot latviešu populārās mūzikas radiostaciju Latvijas Radio 2. Pētījuma mērķis ir noskaidrot, kā ar šī medija starpniecību notiek nacionālās identitātes rekonstrukcija.
Darba teorētiskā daļā aplūkotas nacionālās identitātes populārāko teorētiķu pieejas, analizēta mūzikas semiotika, meklējot mediju, kultūras, kopienas un patērniecības un nacionālās identitātes mijsakarības. Darbā veikta latviešu nacionālās identitātes un latviešu populārās mūzikas izpētes pakāpes apzināšana.
Izmantojot statistisko analīzi, kontentanalīzi un pamatoto teoriju darbā mēģināts atklāt nacionālās identitātes rekonstrukciju vienā atsevišķi aplūkotā masu medijā, apskatot tajā desmit gadu laikā visbiežāk spēlētākās dziesmas. The aim of the master thesis is to find out how the latvian popular music radio station „Latvijas Radio 2” reconstruct the values of national identity.
The goal of the research is to reveal and to analyze national identity through texts and meanings of most replayed radio songs during the ten years period starting from 2002.
In theoretical part of research work the terms of national identity have been examined, as well as role of language and culture in construction of national identity. In separate chapters concepts of music semiotics, consumerism, media and community coherence to national identity have been surveyed.
The theoretical base includes the research of Latvian national identity and history of Latvian popular music. Methodology of research work is based on statistic and content analysis and grounded theory.
