Dzimtes faktora loma Latvijas sporta žurnālistikā

Abstract

Darba izvēlētā tematika ir par dzimtes faktora lomu sporta žurnālistikā. Lai arī patlaban notiek aktīvas diskusijas par dzimuma līdztiesību visās jomās, tomēr ir sfēras, kurās dzimuma atšķirības ir ļoti ievērojamas. Sports ir tā joma, kurā jau kopš seniem laikiem dzimumam ir bijusi liela nozīme. Šajā jomā dominēja vīrieši, sievietēm atstājot sekundāru pozīciju. Arī sporta žurnālistikā atšķirības nav būtiskas. Tā kā sports vairāk asociējas ar vīriešiem, tad arī sporta žurnālistika tiek attiecināta uz vīriešu darbības jomu. Darba mērķis ir izanalizēt situāciju Latvijas medijos, noskaidrot, vai tiešām sporta jomā dominē vīrieši, kā arī izpētīt, vai žurnālistu, mediju vadītāju un auditorijas pārstāvju vidū pastāv stereotipi, ka sporta žurnālistika ir vīrietim piemērotāka nodarbošanās. Svarīgi ir noskaidrot, vai eksistē noturīgi aizspriedumi un vai notiek sieviešu diskriminācija, kavējot viņu iespējas nodarboties ar sporta žurnālistiku vai konkrētu sporta veidu reprezentāciju. Ar interviju palīdzību tiek noskaidrots sieviešu un vīriešu īpatsvars redakcijās, kuras atbild par sporta atspoguļošanu, tiek veiktas intervijas ar sporta žurnālistiem, mediju vadību un auditorijas pārstāvjiem, lai noskaidrotu, vai respondentiem ir svarīgs sporta žurnālista dzimums, vai interviju diskursā parādās dzimtes stereotipi, vai tipiskāka ir to laušana.

The chosen subject of the thesis is about the gender factor role in the sports journalism. Although at present gender equality in all spheres is actively discussed, there are fields, where gender differences are considerable. Sports is that sphere, where the gender has been very important since the ancient times. Men have always been dominating there, while women have been left with a secondary position. Also sports journalism goes along the same lines. As sports is more associated with men, then also sports journalism is more related to the men’s occupation. The aim of the thesis is to analyze the situation in Latvia’s media, to find out whether really the men dominate the sports field, as well as, whether there are stereotypes among journalists, media management and audience, that the sports journalism is an occupation more appropriate for men. It is important to clarify if there are sustaining stereotypes and if women are discriminated by putting obstacles for them to work in the sports journalism or to represent any specific types of sports. Through a series of interviews the author tries to find out the female and male proportion in media departments responsible for the sports coverage. There are interviews with the sports journalists, the media management and representatives of the audience in order to find out whether the gender of the sports journalist is important for them, and whether during the interview it is possible to detect any gender stereotypes or more typical is breaking of those stereotypes.
