Lokālās preses žurnālistu un redaktoru lomas: profesionālās izpratnes

Abstract

Lokālie mediji reprezentē dažādu grupu un pārvaldības intereses, kā arī darbojas ciešā saiknē ar vietējo sabiebrību. Mediju sociālo funkciju īstenošanai, mediju darbiniekiem ir jārealizē noteiktas profesionālās lomas, kas ietekmē dienaskārtības veidošanu, „vārtu sargāšanu” un ētikas principu ievērošanu, kas ir atkarīgi no katra individuālā žurnālista. Darbā, izmantojot sistēmteorijas elementus, ir analizēta lokālās preses specifika, mediju darbinieku attieksme pret kopienu, profesiju un mediju. Darba gaitā ir definētas un identificētas žurnālistu un redaktoru profesionālās lomas, to kombinācijas, kā arī šo lomu realizēšana un nozīme Latvijas lokālās preses kontekstā. Pētot individuālā, institucionālā un sociālā līmeņu ietekmi uz lomu izpratni, īpaša uzmanība ir pievērsta vietējās sabiedrības un kopienas identitātes aspektam.

Local media represent the interests of different groups and work in close contact to local community. To realize the social functions of media, media staff must realize particular professional roles. The implementation of these roles depends on each journalist and thereby influence the process of agenda setting, gate keeping and realization of ethical principles. In this work are used the elements of system theory to analyse the specific features of local press and the attitude of media staff towards community, profession and media. In the work are defined and identified the professional roles and role combinations of journalists and editors. The realization and significance of these roles are analyzed in the context of Latvian local press. While exploring the influence of individual, institutional and social levels on role insight, special attention is paid to the aspect of local community and local identity.
