Abstract

. Pētījuma “Studentu informācijpratība un akadēmiskās bibliotēkas” mērķis ir izpētīt Latvijas augstskolu studentu informācijpratības līmeni, lai noskaidrotu, ar kādām metodēm efektīvāk uzlabot informācijas ieguves, izmantošanas un novērtēšanas aspektus studiju procesā. Novērojumi rāda, ka studentiem, informācijas tehnoloģiju laikmetā, bieži vien trūkst izpratnes par informācijas novērtēšanas nepieciešamību, izvēloties informācijas ieguves avotus un meklējot informāciju studijām un ikdienā, kas kavē veiksmīgu izglītošanos procesu, iesaistīšanos mūžizglītības procesos, kā arī samazina personiskās un profesionālās iespējas turpmākajā dzīvē. Izmantojot aptaujas pētniecības metodi, apstiprinājās pētījuma sākumā izvirzītā hipotēze, ka klātienes un neklātienes studentu informācijpratību var uzlabot akadēmiskās bibliotēkas, nodrošinot apmācības, mācot meklēt, analizēt, izvērtēt un izmantot iegūto informāciju no dažādiem informācijas avotiem. . The goal of the research Students’ Information Literacy and Academic Libraries is to find out the level of the information literacy among the students of Latvian universities to clarify the most effective aspects in gaining of information, using it and evaluating in the process of studies. Observations show that students in the age of information technology lack comprehension about the necessity of the information evaluation in choosing information sources and finding information for the studies as well as for the everyday life and it prevents successful process of education and involving in processes of lifelong learning, it also decreases individual and professional possibilities in the further life. Using questionnaire as a method of research the proposed hypothesis is affirmed that the information literacy of the fulltime and part time students can be improved by academic libraries providing tuition, teaching to find, to analyze, to evaluate and use gained information from the different sources.
