Atslēgvārdi: migrācija, reemigrācijas, reintegrācijas, jaunieši, cilvēkkapitāls un sociālais kapitāls, sociālā adaptācija; The aim of the Bachelor’s work is to study the process of reintegration of youth re-emigrants into the labour market. Over the last five years it has become an issue of great concern in Latvia. As over fifty thousand inhabitants of Latvia have emigrated abroad in order to live there and work. However, according to the last tendencies in emigration, people are slowly returning back to Latvia. In the Paper the emphasis is put on the youth re-emigrants because according to the statistics, the youth is more likely to go abroad for job-searching than any other age group representatives.
Though, the research object is presented by people aged from eighteen to thirty, who have got certain working experience abroad and whose present place of living is Latvia. During the research altogether 10 people (three women and seven men) were interviewed, which came from different cities.
The terms such as migration and return migration were examined relatively thoroughly in the work. Various researches related to re-emigrants were studied and analysed in the theoretical part. The study of the theoretical issues enabled broad analysis of the re-emigrants’ problems, helped to define their general objectives for coming-back, and gave the background for the comparison of other authors’ beliefs concerning particular groups of re-emigrants with the interviewed youth re-emigrants’ opinions.
The general aim of the Bachelor’s work is to evaluate the process of youth reintegration into the labour market. In order to achieve the aim, the theories of human and social capital were analysed and applied. The theory of human capital views the individual’s knowledge and skills gained in several life stages and situations, as well as analyses how each individual uses this capital. On the other hand, the theory of social capital emphasises resources which lie in social networks. Individuals invest in building their social networks to gain an output later.
To achieve the objective of the Bachelor’s work several concept questions, which are connected to youth re-integration into both the society and labour market, were clarified. To put it concrete, it was found out how the youth get new job places and feel there, whether they apply the skills and abilities gained abroad, and what helped them to get new job positions. As the outcome, it was concluded that the practical application of the human and social capital theories stimulated the youth re-emigrants’ successful reintegration into the labour market of Latvia.
