Abstract

Bakalaura darbs dod priekšstatu par jauno mobilo platformu – Android, kā arī novērtējumu salīdzinājumā ar citām tirgū esošajām mobilo telefonu operētājsistēmām. Darbs sniedz vēsturisku ieskatu mobilo tālruņu un to operētājsistēmu attīstībā. Tajā aprakstītas un paskaidrotas galvenās Android operētājsistēmas priekšrocības un iespējas, lai labāk izprastu šo platformu. Teorētiskajā daļā autors salīdzina Android operētājsistēmu ar lielākajiem tās konkurentiem- iOS, BADA, Symbian OS un Windows Mobile. Tiek aprakstīti kritēriji, kuri palīdzēs šo operētājsistēmu salīdzināšanas procesā. Praktiskā daļa sevī ietver programmatūras izstrādes komplektu (SDK) salīdzinājumu, lai veiktu šo salīdzinājumu, tiks izstrādāta neliela programma. Nobeigumā apkopoti secinājumi un perspektīvas, kuras radušās darba izstrādes laikā.

This bachelor thesis gives an idea of the new mobile platform - Android, as well as an assessment of the market in comparison with other existing mobile phone operating systems. This Paper gives a historical insight of mobile phones and the development of their operating systems. It describes and explains the main benefits of an Android operating system and opportunities for a better understanding of these platforms. In theoretical part of this Papaer the author compares the Android operating system with its major competitors - iOS, BADA, Symbian OS and Windows Mobile. A description of criteria is given that will help in the process of comparing the operating systems. The practical part includes a comparison of software development kit (SDK). In order to make that comparison a small program on all platforms will be developed. In the conclusion there is a summary of main findings and perspectives developed during the process of elabarating this bachelor thesis.
