This bachelor’s paper is devoted to algorithms implemented in augmented reality systems which determine the possible location of the marker in the image. In addition, there is an observation of sectors in which augmented reality was developed or already applied.
This paper includes two algorithms which determine the marker in the image: the first one is based on determination of the direction of the gradient of the pixel and the second one is based on the Canny edge detection algorithm. The presented algorithms are compared with each other and with the previously developed two algorithms, in which one of them uses the Hough transformation, and the second one – line simplification.
The developed algorithms were tested on 45 images, which together represent 79 markers, of which 54 were found by algorithm based on determination of the direction of the gradient, and 63 were found correctly by using algorithm which was based on Canny edge detection.
