Bezvadu tīkla ieviešana Latvijas Universitātē

Abstract

Maģistra darba mērķis ir veikt pirmoreiz Latvijas Universitātē analīzi par bezvadu tīklam Wi-Fi (wireless fidelity) klientu pieslēgumiem, analizēt pieslēgumu skaitu pa stundām, nedēļas dienām, salīdzināt LU fakultāšu studentu vēlmi izmantot šo pakalpojumu, apskatīta izmantotā aparatūra un veikts izmaksu aprēķins bezvadu interneta punkta izveidei. Darbā analizēti rezultāti par LU Wi-Fi bezvadu tīklu, kurš ir viens no trijiem LU ieviestiem. Wi-Fi ir samērā jauns zinātnes sasniegums, kas strauji iekaro popularitāti ērtās izmantošanas dēļ, bet ne vienīgais zināmais. Pirmajā daļā Jūs iepazīsieties ar bezvadu interneta darbības principiem, bezvadu interneta tīklu veidiem un tehnoloģijām. Otrajā daļā ir apskatīta bezvadu interneta tīkla pielietošana citās augstskolās. Trešajā daļā ir dots pārskats par Interneta tīkla izveidi Latvijas Universitātē, tā izmantošanu un aprakstīti studentiem pieejamie bezvadu tīkla veidi. Ceturtajā daļā tiek analizēta apstrādātā informācija, tiek skatīts pieslēgumu sadalījums pa stundām, nedēļas dienām, salīdzināts pieslēgumu daudzums pa fakultātēm. Piektajā daļa apskatīta nozīmigākā izmantotā aparatūra bezvadu tīkla LU Wi-Fi darbības nodrošināšanai. Sestajā daļā ir salīdzinātas izmaksas un ieguvums ar parasto “kabeļu” tīklu.

The aim of the subject master’s thesis is to carry out analysis of clients’ connections to Wi-Fi (wireless fidelity) for the first time in the history of University of Latvia (hereinafter LU), to analyze the number of hourly and weekly connections the as well as to compare the intention of students of different faculties to use this service. The thesis includes also the review of the applied equipment and the calculation of the expenses related to the development of the wireless internet site. The paper covers also analysis of the results of the functioning of Wi-Fi wireless network in LU, which is one of the three networks installed in the Latvian University. Wi-Fi is a rather new scientific achievement, it is becoming popular due to its convenient use, however it is not the only one known at present. The first part of the thesis is devoted to the principles of the functioning of the wireless network, the forms of wireless networks and the corresponding technologies. The second part covers the application of the wireless network in other higher educational establishments. The third part discusses the question about the development and use of internet network in LU, mentioning the forms of wireless networks available for students. The forth part includes the analysis of the processed information, in particular it reviews the division of connections within weekly hours and days, gives comparison of the number of connections between the faculties. The fifth part gives overview on the most significant equipment used to provide the functioning of the Wi-Fi in LU. The sixth part is devoted to the costs and benefits in comparison with the ordinary cable network.
