Cenu riska hedžēšanas stratēģijas pielietojuma gala iznākums liecina par to, ka kompānijai LUKOIL pastāv ievērojams ienākumu saglabāšanas potenciāls naftas cenas krituma apstākļos. Tomēr, valūtas riska hedžēšanas stratēģijas paradīja negatīvus rezultātus, kuri ir izskaidrojami ar attiecīga perioda vājas valūtas tirgus konjuktūru. Mater thesis aims to provide detailed overview over the deals with financial and commodity derivatives from the foreign exchange rate risk and commodity risk hedging perspective.
World practice shows that using hedging strategies, which involve derivative instruments by commodity producers, traders and consumers, reflects the desire to obtain protection from uncertain adverse commodity price or foreign exchange rate movements.
The empirical research of the master thesis provides the development of the commodity and foreign exchange rate risk hedging strategies for the oil refining company LUKOIL. The outcome of the hedging strategies revealed significant savings potential on the commodity risk exposure minimization; however the foreign exchange rate risk hedging strategy showed negative results due to the weak market conditions during the corresponding period.
