Maģistra darbā tiek veikts biedrības „Darīsim paši!” darbības izvērtējums. Darba mērķis ir apzināt līdzšinējo Eiropas Savienības, Latvijas politiku un vietējās rīcības grupas - biedrības „Darīsim paši!” pieredzi LEADER iniciatīvas ieviešanā, un izstrādāt priekšlikumus LEADER iniciatīvas īstenošanai plānošanas periodā 2014.-2020.gadam. Darba uzdevumi: veikt izpēti par lauku dzīves telpas attīstības politikām un LEADER iniciatīvas ieviešanu Latvijā, atspoguļot biedrības „Darīsim paši!” darbības un teritorijas attīstības analīzi un, pamatojoties uz iegūtajiem rezultātiem, izstrādāt priekšlikumus LEADER iniciatīvas īstenošanai nākošajam plānošanas periodam. Pētījuma projektā izstrādātie priekšlikumi LEADER iniciatīvas īstenošanai plānošanas periodā 2014.-2020.gadam akcentē ideju par plānošanu „no apakšas uz augšu”. Maģistra darbā tiek raksturota lauku dzīves vide un tās attīstības teorētiskie aspekti, apskatīts lauku attīstības politikas jautājums, LEADER iniciatīvas vēsturiskā attīstība, veikta analīze par LEADER iniciatīvu Latvijā, sniegta padziļināta biedrības „Darīsim paši! darbības analīze plānošanas periodā 2007.-2013.gadam, sniegti priekšlikumi LEADER iniciatīvas īstenošanai nākamajam plānošanas periodam un darba noslēgumā ir apkopoti secinājumi.

The focus of the Master thesis is to carry out an evaluation of the activity of Association „Darīsim paši!”. The aim of the Master thesis is to gather information about the previous experience of the European Union, Latvian and local group of action – Association „Darīsim paši!” to introduce the initiative of LEADER, and to work out suggestions for the realization of LEADER initiative in the next planning period 2012-2020. The tasks of the Master thesis: to study policy of the development of rural living space and the implementation of LEADER initiative in Latvia; to reflect analysis of Association „Darīsim paši!” activities and territorial development, and to work out suggestions for realization of LEADER initiative in the next planning period, based on results of the research. The suggestions made for realization of LEADER initiative in the next planning period 2012-2020 emphasize the idea of planning „bottom - up”. Master’s thesis describes the theoretical approaches of rural living space, reviews the policy of rural development and historical aspects of the LEADER initiatives, includes the analysis of LEADER initiative in Latvia, deeply analyses activities of Association “Darīsim paši!” for planning period 2007-2013, sets suggestions for realization of LEADER initiative in the next planning period, and the end part of the Master thesis is devoted to summary of conclusions.
