Atslēgvārdi: klimats, ziemas sezona, pavasara sezona, Gulbene. The aim of author’s bachelor study „The evaluation of winter and spring seasons according to observations of Gulbene meteorological station” is to classify winter and spring seasons in types and to assess the influence of winter weather conditions on the spring season. Using some statistical methods and on the basis of defined meteorological parameters - average air temperature and annual monthly precipitation - data recorded for winter (December – February) and spring (March – April) months has been classified into various types during 1931/32 - 2004/05. The methodology used in this study has been designed by the Institute of Geography (University of Tartu, Estonia) and approbated to Gulbene’s circumstances. Very important was to analyse connections between winter and spring types what kind of spring types follows to winter types. After the warm winters came early springs. After the mild winters came 1 warm spring, 3 normal and 1 late spring. After the mild winters came 1 normal, 2 early and 2 late springs. After the normal winter came 6 normal, 1 late and 5 warm springs. After the cold winter came 1 late, 1 normal and 2 early springs. After severe winters came 1 late and 2 normal springs.
Key words: climate, winter season, spring season, Gulbene.
