The goal of this research is to interpret and analyze the construction of narrative time and space in postcolonial literature. For this research, an autobiographical pamphlet A Small Place was chosen. This book is a great example of postcolonial literature, due to its literary mastery and power in raising political issues of a neo-colonial influence upon postcolonial Antigua. The writer uses a narrative hybrid of autobiography and pamphlet to uncover the workings of the colonial past on the development of nowadays Antigua. Narrative time and space are constructed by using different grammatical and stylistic devices, tropes of colonial discourse and metatextuality.
