The objective of the present research is to adduce evidence that three Arthurian knights (Sir Gawain, Sir Yvain, and Sir Lancelot) possess the qualities of perfect knights of their age, so one could conclude that knighthood in Arthurian romances is represented like an ideal. The following research methods are employed: the historical research (in order to create the image of an ideal medieval knight), and the content analysis (in order to compare the images of Sir Gawain, Sir Yvain, and Sir Lancelot with the image of an ideal knight). The results of the research show that Sir Gawain is an ideal knight from the points of view of religion and moral virtues; Sir Lancelot is perfect in courtly love relationship, and Sir Yvain is ideal in a battlefield. As all these aspects are interconnected, one can claim them being perfect knights of the Middle Ages.
