The aim of the research is to explore the functionalities of CAT and modern TEnTs via case study in order to detect its influence on translator competitiveness in the LSP market. To determine Latvian freelance translators’ TEnT adoption tendencies, 54 translators were interviewed, from the replies of which a simple TEnT evaluation method applicable by translators was developed. After analysing the relevant data, conclusions were drawn that modern TEnTs have very similar functionality and have become increasingly compatible to one another, enabling translators to migrate away from market leaders.
