Tulkošanas rīku apguve Latvijas ārštata tulkotāju vidū un tās ietekme uz tulkotāju konkurētspēju starptautiskajā VPP tirgū

Abstract

Maģistra darba tēma ir „Tulkošanas rīku apguve Latvijas ārštata tulkotāju vidū un tās ietekme uz tulkotāju konkurētspēju starptautiskajā VPP tirgū”. Darba mērķis ir izpētīt Datorizēto tulkošanu un Tulkošanas rīkus, izmantojot situāciju analīzi, lai noteiktu, vai tulkošanas rīku izmantošana ietekmē tulkotāju konkurētspēju VPP tirgū. Lai noskaidrotu Latvijas ārštata tulkotājiem raksturīgās tulkošanas rīku apguves tendences, tika aptaujāti 54 tulkotāji. Izmantojot iegūtos datus, tika izveidota vienkārša tulkošanas rīku novērtēšanas metode, kura paredzēta izmantošanai tulkotājiem. Pēc datu analīzes tika secināts, ka jaunākās paaudzes tulkošanas rīkiem ir ļoti līdzīgas funkcijas un tie ir kļuvuši ļoti saderīgi savā starpā, tādējādi iedrošinot tulkotājus attālināties no tirgus līdera.

The theme of the current research paper is “Translation Environment Tool Adoption among Latvian Freelancers and the Perceived Impact of this on their Competitiveness in the International LSP Market”. The aim of the research is to explore the functionalities of CAT and modern TEnTs via case study in order to detect its influence on translator competitiveness in the LSP market. To determine Latvian freelance translators’ TEnT adoption tendencies, 54 translators were interviewed, from the replies of which a simple TEnT evaluation method applicable by translators was developed. After analysing the relevant data, conclusions were drawn that modern TEnTs have very similar functionality and have become increasingly compatible to one another, enabling translators to migrate away from market leaders.
