Bakalaura darba tēma ir „Režisora Tarsema Singa apziņas pasaules dramatizējums filmās”. Tās ietvaros autore apskata trīs filmas: „Šūna” (1999), „Kritiens” (2006) un „Nemirstīgie” (2011). Nekad līdz šim nav veikts pētījums saistībā ar šī režisora daiļradi; tā mērķis ir analizēt Tarsema Singa darbus un atrast viņa raksturīgākās filmu veidošanas pieejas. Lai noteiktu darbos izmantotos paņēmienus, tiek veikta semiotiskā analīze, un tā tiek papildināta ar fokusa grupas interviju parastu cilvēku vidū, kas palīdzēs aptvert, kādus filmās redzamus elementus pamana tie skatītāji, kas tām nav pievērsuši pastiprinātu uzmanību. Pētījuma rezultātos tiek iegūts konkrēts priekšstats par režisora darbības stilu, nosauktas galvenās tendences, balstoties uz līdzībām visos darbos, kā arī tiek konstatēts, ka jauniešu vidū filmas vēstījums šķiet pārsātināts ar simboliem un komplicēts, un režisora darbi tiek vērtēti kā ļoti estētiski un vizuāli baudāmi.
Darba sākumā tiek apskatīta teorija par zīmju un simbolu pielietojumu, veikts pārskats par kontekstu, leņķiem un speciālajiem efektiem. Pēcāk izveidota metodoloģiskā daļa, kas pamato atlasītās pētījumu metodes. Darba noslēdzošā sadaļa apskata katru filmu atsevišķi, izdalot intervijā un semiotiskajā analīzē iegūtos rezultātus. Pēdējā apakšnodaļa veltīta kopīgo tendenču un secinājumu apskatam.
Atslēgvārdi: semiotiskā analīze; nozīmju veidošana; filmas; apkārtējā vide The title of this bachelor thesis is „The dramatisation of sense impression in movies of the director Tarsem Singh”. The author will analyse three movies: „The Cell” (1999), „The Fall” (2006) and „Immortals” (2011). No one ever before has studied movies made by Tarsem Singh. The purpose of this thesis is to analyse his work and determine specific filmmaking characteristics. In order to specify his working pattern, the author of this thesis will do a semiological analysis and organise a focus group. The interview will allow to understand, what are the things that a simple viewer notices. As a result, the author will determine a specific filmmaking style and name common tendencies and special effects. The conclusion also encounters the point of view of the interviewees: they find the director’s movies saturated with symbols, elaborate and extremely aesthetic.
The beginning of the work consists of the theoretical part that covers symbols, signs, context, camera angles and special effects. Then there is the methodology part that explains the specific choice of semiological analysis and a focus group interview. The analytical part, firstly, consists of an advanced analysis of all the movies apart, and then there is a conclusion made about the common grounds and tendencies of the movies by Tarsem Singh.
