Bērnu agrīnā specializācija sportā

Abstract

Bērnu agrīnā specializācija sportā ir bieži pieminēta tēma pasaules bērnu un jaunatnes sportā. Par tās nepieciešamību un izpausmēm sporta pētnieku viedokļi dalās, taču ir skaidras negatīvās iezīmes, ko tā var veicināt – agrāku bērnu aiziešanu no sporta, paaugstinātu traumu iespējamības risku u.c. problēmas. Pētījuma mērķis ir izpētīt to, kā bērnu agrīnā specializācija izpaužas Latvijas bērnu un jaunatnes sportā, izmantojot basketbola piemēru. Latvijā dažādi sporta veidi un sporta skolas konkurē savā starpā par bērnu piesaistīšanu sportam. Šī konkurence un bērnu un jauniešu organizētās sporta sistēmas nosaka to, ka Latvijā sporta skolas uzņem bērnus basketbolā sākot no sešu un septiņu gadu vecuma. Pēc tam tās drīz uzsāk apmācību konkrētajā sporta veidā, domājot par labāku rezultātu sasniegšanu, bet nereti aizmirstot par iespējamajiem ar to saistītajiem riskiem.

Early specialization of children in sport is an often mentioned issue in global youth sport. Sport researchers share opinions about its necessity and manifestations, but there are evident negative features that can be caused by it – early children drop-out from sports, higher injury risk and other problems. The aim of the research is to explore, how early specialization of children expresses itself in Latvian youth sport by using an example of basketball milieu. There are different sports schools that are competing for earlier attraction of children in youth sport. This competition and organized youth sport systems determine that Latvian youth sport schools attract children starting from the age of six and seven. Soon after they start to train them in particular sport with an idea of better results in future, but quite often forget about the possible risks that are tied to that.
