Tendences komercbanku tirgus konkurencē Latvijā

Abstract

Šajā maģistra darbā tiek analizēta Latvijas komercbanku attīstība pēdējo 5 gadu laikā, ņemot vērā tirgus koncentrāciju, spēju tirgū diktēt cenu un konkurenci kopumā. Pēc teorētisko modeļu apskata, pētījuma laikā tiek sniegts pārskats par banku galveno rādītāju kopējo attīstību kā arī īpašnieku struktūras maiņu komercbankām Latvijā. Turpmākajā darbā tiek veikti aprēķini izmantojot tirgus daļu, koncentrācijas rādītājus (CR3, CR4 and CR5) un Herfindahl-Hirschman Indekss, kuri tiek lietoti banku aktīviem, izsniegtajiem kredītiem un piesaistītajiem noguldījumiem bankās Latvijā. Papildus, Lernera indekss tiek pielietots aprēķiniem banku izsniegtajiem kredītiem. Nobeigumā, rezultāti tiek apkopoti un ir veikti secinājumi par konkurences tendencēm Latvijas komercbanku tirgū.

This master thesis analyzes how the commercial banking market has developed over the last 5 years with regards to market concentration, pricing power and competition in general. After the discussion of theoretical background, an overview of general development as well as ownership changes are presented for commercial banks in Latvia. Afterwards calculations are performed using market share, concentration ratios (CR3, CR4 and CR5) and Herfindahl- Hirschman Index for the assets, issued credits and attracted deposits of the commercial banks in Latvia. Also, Lerner index is calculated for the loans issued by the banks. Consequently, results are presented and conclusions are made for the tendencies of competition in commercial banking market of Latvia.
