Mūsdienās arvien lielāku uzmanību guvušās klimata pārmaiņas un to izraisītās sekas ietekmē tādas atmosfēras raksturojošas īpašības kā gaisa temperatūra un mitrums. Atmosfēras-hidrosfēras sistēmas izmaiľu rezultātā norisinās arī to parādību kvantitatīvo (biežums) un kvalitatīvo (intensitāte, izplatība) pazīmju samazināšanās vai palielināšanās.
Bakalaura darba „Pērkona negaisi, to izplatība un mainība Vidzemē” ietvaros tiek pētītas pērkona negaisu izplatības un biežuma izmaiņas Vidzemes reģionā no 1961. līdz 2010. gadam.
Pērkona negaisi bakalaura darbā ir vispusīgi analizēti, kā rezultātā tika noskaidrots negaisu skaits un ilgums gan atsevišķās meteoroloģiskajās stacijās, gan arī darba gaitā izdalītajos reģionos. Apskatot pērkona negaisus sezonālā un ilggadīgā griezumā, dominē negaisu dienu un reģistru skaita samazināšanās visās Vidzemes stacijās.

With more and more attention given to climate change and its’ consequences, it is important to evaluate the changes in the atmosphere (air temperature and moisture). Changes in the atmosphere-hidrosphere system determine the increase or decrease trend of its’ quantitative and qualitative characteristics, such as frequency, intensity and spatial distribution of various phenomena.
Bachelor thesis „Distributions and changes of thunderstorm in Vidzeme” is dedicated to research about changes and frequency of observed thunderstorms in Vidzeme region during 1961–2010.
Thunderstorms were fully analyzed, gaining knowledge of the number and duration of thunderstorms in Vidzeme both in meteorological stations and the region they represent. Also the trend of seasonal and long-term distribution was analyzed and the results showed that there is a strong dominance of decreasing thunderstorm days and registers in all stations in Vidzeme.
