The genus of ivy (Hedera L.) taxa are native shrubs in Ginseng family with creepy shoots. There is only the Baltic ivy in wildlife in Latvia (Hedera Helix var. Baltica), which grows mostly in the Western regions, reaching the border of North-East range. Thanks to the creators of gardens and parks and enthusiasts you can also find other genus of Hedera L. Taxa in Latvia.
Similarly to the Baltic ivy, the distribution of ivy and other introduced taxa is limited, so in the Bachleor’s work it will be looked at all distribution of ivy taxa by linking it to environmental factors.
Bachelor's work summarizes the genus of ivy (Hedera L.) species and taxa, their geography, history, protection in Latvia and in it’s immediate neighborhoods, gathered information on ecology and biology of the species, also influencing factors of climat and the possibility of spread of alien taxa in the wildlife.
Work summarizes the data bases of genus of the taxa, considering which the data was collected and analyzed in the maps by linking them with a landscape-land maps and maps of the sectors of climate-continentality.
Baltic ivy occurs only in weak sectors of climate continentality in littoral lowland. In the parks and gardens of Latvia the genus of Hedera L. taxa is distributed mainly in regions with weak and moderate and, less frequently with middle climate continentality. Spread is limited by the complex of climatic factors and therefore this Bachelor work describes the climatic factors that has limited the distribution of the species of oceanic plants in Latvia.
