The aim of the bachelor paper is to analyse and compare public speaking tasks in two coursebooks. The first book is “Language Leader Upper Intermediate Coursebook”. The second coursebook is “Success Advanced: Students` Book”.
The bachelor thesis consists of five chapters on the theoretical issues of public speaking and language teaching and a chapter about the empirical research results. Theoretical chapters investigate the stages of preparation of a speech and the structure of a speech, the role of body language and non-verbal communication in public speaking, most common types of public speeches, and information about language teaching methods and techniques that are applied in public speaking tasks.
The results of the research demonstrated that the types of public speaking tasks in “Language Leader Upper Intermediate Coursebook” differ from the types of public speaking tasks in “Success Advanced: Students` Book”.
