Tulkošanas process tulkojot LU portālam

Abstract

Tulkošanas mērķis kopumā is atveidot tekstu, kas radīts vienā kultūrā, citas kultūras lasītājiem saprotamā, dabiskā un pieņemamā veidā. Tam ir nepieciešamas specifiskas prasmes un zināšanas abās iesaistītajās valodās un kultūrās. Šī pētījuma mērķis bija noteikt problēmas, kas kavē jaunu tulkošanas prasmju ieguvi un kvalitatīva tulkojuma vadīšanu. Šis pētījums koncentrējas uz praksi, kuru šī darba autore veica trīs mācību semestru laikā, tulkojot materiālus LU portālam. Rezultāti atklāja, ka galvenās problēmas prasmju ieguvē ir neadekvāti noteikts tulkojuma mērķis, atšķirīgi darba veicamā termiņa nosacījumi tulkojuma veikšanai un tulkošana svešvalodā.

The general aim of translation is to present a text created in one culture to the readers of another culture in an understandable, natural and acceptable way. It requires specific skills and knowledge of the two languages and cultures involved. It is, therefore, important to map how a translator gains experience and skills in translating. The purpose of this research was to pin-point the problems that hinder acquisition of new translation skills and delivery of a qualitative translation. The present paper focuses on practice that the author of this paper underwent in the course of three terms by translating material for the UL portal. The results revealed that the main problems during skill acquisition are inadequate definition of the purpose of translation, irregular time frames for completing a translation and translating into a second language.
