Atrasti 33 pacienti. Atklāti 38 patogēni. 94.7% no baktērijām bija gram pozitīvas, 5,3%, gram negatīvas.
The study was designed to analyze bacterial agents that cause CVC infections in HD patients in PSKUS nephrology department and their sensitivity to antibacterial therapy to be able to recommend an optimal empirical therapy.
The study was retrospective and the information was collected using specially designed forms. Interpretation of the data by MS Excel.
Total 33 patients. 38 pathogens. 94.7% of the bacteria gram-positive, 5.3% gram-negative. Among gram-positive, 57.9% S. coagulase-negative, 31.6% S. aureus, 5.3% Enterococcus spp. with none vancomycin resistant. All S. aureus strains were methicillin sensitive. 77% of S. coagulase-negative strains were methicillin resistant. Among gram-negative bacteria 50% Enterobacter cloacae, 50% Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
Resistance against β-lactam antibacterial therapy was observed in 84.8% of bacteria, methicillin resistance 44.7%.
Recommended empirical therapy for CVC infections among HD patients is vancomycin plus ceftazidime.
