Brīvprātīgo darbs ilgstošas sociālās aprūpes un rehabilitācijas institūcijās

Abstract

Mūsdienās pasaulē brīvprātīgo darbs tiek atzīts un novērtēts kā nozīmīgs sociālā darba resurss, kas palīdz īstenot sociālā darba mērķus konkrētā kopienā un pilnveido arī sabiedrības veiksmīgai funkcionēšanai un attīstībai nepieciešamo sociālo kapitālu. Tomēr Latvijā valsts un pašvaldību ilgstošas sociālās aprūpes un rehabilitācijas institūcijās brīvprātīgo darbs netiek pienācīgi novērtēts un izmantots kā resurss, kas var palīdzēt sasniegt institūciju izvirzītos mērķus, atšķirībā no nevalstisko organizāciju prakses, kas lielākoties mērķtiecīgi izmanto brīvprātīgo darbinieku spējas, prasmes, iniciatīvu savās organizācijās. Pētījuma ‘’Brīvprātīgo darbs ilgstošas sociālās aprūpes un rehabilitācijas institūcijās’’ mērķis ir teorētiski un empīriski pētīt brīvprātīgo darbu ilgstošas sociālās aprūpes un rehabilitācijas institūcijās un izstrādāt informatīvi izglītojošu brošūru. Pētījumā tiks analizēts jēdziens ‘’brīvprātīgo darbs’’ sociālā darba kontekstā, pētīta brīvprātīgo darbība vēsturiskās attīstības gaitā pasaulē un Latvijā, analizēts brīvprātīgais darbs kā viens no sociālā kapitāla veidojošiem un uzturošiem elementiem, apzināta brīvprātīgo darba izmantošanas nozīme un perspektīvas ilgstošas sociālās aprūpes un rehabilitācijas institūcijās, kā arī veikts empīrisks pētījums par brīvprātīgo darbu, tā aktualitāti un izmantošanu ilgstošas sociālās aprūpes un rehabilitācijas institūcijās respondentu skatījumā, apzinot šķēršļus, priekšrocības un trūkumus brīvprātīgā darba izmantošanā, kā rezultātā izstrādāta analizēto informāciju apkopojoša informatīvi izglītojoša brošūra ‘’Izmanto brīvprātīgo darbu!’’.

Nowadays voluntary work has been acknowledged and appreciated as an important resource in social work worldwide. It helps to implement the objectives of social work in a particular community and also improves the social capital that is needed for successful functioning and development of the society. However, governmental and municipal long term social care and rehabilitation institutions in Latvia do not appreciate voluntary work and do not employ it as a resource that can help to achieve their set objectives. Non-governmental organisations, on the contrary, often utilise the skills and initiatives of the volunteers in their organisations. The aim of the research “Volunteering in long term social care and rehabilitation institutions’’ is to theoretically and empirically examine voluntary work in long term social care and rehabilitation institutions as well as to produce an informational and educational pamphlet on this topic. The term “voluntary work” in the context of social work will be analysed in this research and the development of voluntary work in Latvia and worldwide throughout the history will be explored. In addition, voluntary work will be analysed as being one of the modelling and sustaining elements of the social capital. The importance of the utilisation of voluntary work will be acknowledged and its future perspectives in long term social care and rehabilitation institutions will be looked upon. Also, an empirical research on voluntary work will be carried out considering its topicality and employment in long term social care and rehabilitation institutions from the perspective of the respondents who acknowledge barriers, advantages and disadvantages in utilising voluntary work. This research consequently results in the production of an informational and educational pamphlet “Utilise voluntary work!” that compiles all the analysed information in the research.
