Bakalaura darbs “Komunikācijas studentu interneta un televīzijas lietošanas paradumi un izvēles motīvi Latvijā no 2005. līdz 2007.gadam” mērķis ir noskaidrot, ko, kā un kāpēc medijos – televīzija un internets - saistošu atrod komunikācijas students un vai to lietošana rada apmierinājumu un spēj aizstāt interpersonālo komunikāciju.
Pētījuma teorētiskā daļā analizēta lietojuma un apmierinājuma teorija, ietverot mediju lietošanas strukturālo un ekspektāciju-vērtību modeli. Teorija par jauniešiem balstīta uz psihoanalīzes klasiķa pētnieka Erika Eriksona teorētiskajām nostādnēm.
Pētījuma aktualitāte rada interneta straujā attīstība un kā tas ietekmē cita audiovizuālā medija TV vietu studentu auditorijā. Ņemot vērā interneta popularitāti jauniešu vidū, svarīgo novērtēt tā nozīmi un ietekmi uz ikdienu. Pētījumi par studentu un interneta un TV attiecībām Latvijā nav veikti.
Pētījuma metodes ir anketēšana un fokusgrupas intervijas.
Secinājumi. Internets studentiem kļuvis par nozīmīgāko mediju, kas palīdz uzturēt un atvieglo komunikāciju ar draugiem un paziņām, tomēr nespēj aizstāt baudu, ko cilvēks gūst interpersonālā komunikācijā. TV lietošanas apjoms samazinās.

Bachelor work under title Latvian Communication Studies Students' Habits and Selection Motives in Internet and Television Use from 2005 to 2007. Objectives of bachelor are to clarify what, how and why students of communication use mass media as television and internet and do this use give satisfy and replace the interpersonal communications.
On the first part of bachelor is analyzed the theory of use and gratification and also about youth. Theory about the young adults is ground on psychoanalysis classic researcher Erik Erikson.
The reason to do research like that is Internet media, which are developing in very fast way. Internet impacts television role for students also. It is very significant to evaluate Internet importance and impact to students. Researches in this aspect in Latvia are not made before.
Methods of the research are questionnaire method and focus group interviews.
Conclusions. For most part of students Internet is became the prior media, because of interactive use and easy way, how to connect to friends. The use of television is decreasing, but TV plays more and more role as background media like radio do it usually.
