Abstract

Darba tēma ir Latvijas integrācija Ekonomikas un monetārajā savienībā. Darbā mērķis ir, kritiski novērtējot Māstrihtas kritērijus un to izpildi Latvijā, kā arī eiro ieviešanas galvenos ekonomiskus ieguvumus, izdarīt secinājumus un sniegt priekšlikumus Latvijas valdībai eiro ieviešanas procesa augstākai efektivitātes nodrošināšanai. Galvenie darba uzdevumi ir, apkopojot literatūru, pētījumus, informāciju par tēmu, izpētīt EMS, veikt Māstrihtas kritēriju izpildes analīzi Latvijā, novērtēt Māstrihtas stratēģiju un eiro ieviešanas ietekmi uz ārējo tirdzniecību un tiešo investīciju plūsmām. Darbā ir konstatēts, ka eiro ieviešana pati par sevi nenodrošina ekonomikas izaugsmi, līdz ar to Latvijas valdībai ir svarīgi izvēlēties pareizo ceļu un apzinīgi rīkoties, lai eiro ieviešana atstātu pozitīvu ietekmi uz Latvijas ekonomikas attīstību. The topic of the work is Latvia’s Integration in the Economic and Monetary Union. The purpose of the work is while having critically evaluated the Maastricht Criteria, its performance in Latvia and main economic benefits provided by a single currency, then make conclusions and work out a proposal of a more effective introduction of Euro for the Latvian Government. The main tasks of this work are to research the EMU, to analyze the performance of the Maastricht Criteria and to evaluate how the introduction of Euro can affect the International Trade and the inflow of the Direct Investments. In the process of this research it has been established that the introduction of Euro itself does not lead to economic growth and so it is important for the Government of Latvia to choose the correct path while introducing Euro in Latvia to gain a positive result of the action.
