Portatīvo GPS iekārtu izmantošanas iespējas un problēmas slēgtās ainavās

Abstract

Visā pasaulē, arī Latvijā, strauji attīstās tehnoloģijas un daudzi cilvēki dodoties ceļojumos, pārgājienos, sēņot un ogot, izmanto GPS uztvērējus, nevis papīra kartes. Navigāciju daudzi droši izmanto automašīnās esot svešās valstīs un pilsētās, tomēr mežainos apvidos cilvēki baidās izmantot GPS uztvērējus. Kā viens no iemesliem ir stereotips par GPS uztvērēju signāla neuztveršanu mežā, un otrs ir šaurais informācijas loks, kurš nesniedz cilvēkiem pārskatāmu materiālu un pētījumus par amatieru rokas GPS uztvērēju izmantošanu mežainos apvidos, kā arī par digitālajām kartēm, kuras var izmantot šādiem mērķiem. Bakalaura darba „Portatīvo GPS iekārtu izmantošanas iespējas un problēmas slēgtās ainavās” veikšanas mērķis ir noskaidrot rokas GPS uztvērēju iespējas un problēmas kādas rodas atrodoties mežainā apvidū. Pētījums dalās četrās daļās: literatūras analīze teorētiskajam ieskatam; anketēšanas datu analīze, lai veidotos priekšstats par rokas GPS uztvērēju izmantošanas aktualitāti Latvijā; patstāvīgs pētījums Rīgā, Šmerļa mežā un Mežaparkā, izmantojot Magellan eXplorist 210, Magellan SporTrak, Garmin eTrex Legend cx un Garmin Dakota 20 rokas GPS uztvērējus, saglabājot tajos datus, kuri pēc tam tika analizēti, izveidojot diskusiju un secinājumus par darba mērķī izvirzīto problēmu. Throughout the world, including Latvia, technologies are evolving rapidly and a lot of people use GPS receivers rather than paper maps while traveling, hiking, picking berries and mushrooms. Many people safely use navigation in their cars, while being in foreign countries and cities, however, in wooded areas, people are afraid of using GPS receivers. One of the reasons is the stereotype on GPS receivers having a weak signal in a wood. The other one is a narrow range of information, not providing people with transparent material and research on the usage of amateur handheld GPS receivers in forested areas, as well as on digital maps, which can be used for such purposes. The aim of the bachelor study „Problems and opportunities of use of GPS receivers in closed landscapes” is to clarify the opportunities and problems of handheld GPS receivers, which can occur while one is in a wooded area. The bachelor study consists of four parts: literature analysis for a theoretical insight; questionnaire data analysis to form a picture of the handheld GPS receivers usage actuality in Latvia; independent study in Riga, Smerlis forest and Mezaparks, using Magellan eXplorist 210, Magellan SporTrak, Garmin eTrex Legend cx and Garmin Dakota 20 handheld GPS receivers, maintaining the data which were afterwards analyzed, setting up a discussion and conclusions of the work problem raised.
