Matisone L., 2013.

Master’s thesis investigates the formation characteristics of the newest dunes in the eastern part of Lake Engure separating spit. The thesis examines the scientific literature about aeolian processes taking place on the seashore and the formation and distribution of dunes. It is based on results of field and laboratory studies which are obtained by doing levelling and geological drilling works, description of sediments and collection of samples to perform granulometric analysis, as well as processing and analysis of the materials and data. The obtained results were interpreted on the basis of the performed research and the reviewed literature, and conclusions were made about the characteristics and development of the newest dunes in the investigated area.
Master’s thesis includes: 61 pages, 30 figures, 4 tables and 9 attachments.
