| dc.description.abstract | Bakalaura darba pētāmā tēma ir garāžu kopu kultūrģeogrāfija Rīgas pilsētā. Pētījuma objekts ir garāžu kopas visā Rīgas pilsētas teritorijā. Darba mērķis ir veikt Rīgas pilsētas garāžu kopu kartēšanu un struktūru salīdzinājumu un sociālās dzīves analīzi. Pētījums balstās uz novērojumiem un vietas studijām un garāžu īpašnieku vai nomnieku un speciālistu anketēšanu un intervēšanu.
Darbs sastāv no sešām nodaļām. Pirmajā nodaļā tiek apskatīti garāžu kopu veidošanās vēsturiskie aspekti. Otrajā nodaļā tiek apskatītas pētījuma darba gaitā izmantotās metodes un materiāli. Trešajā nodaļā tiek aprakstīts, kam pieder garāžu kopas Rīgas pilsētā, kādā veidā notiek garāžu noma un citi darījumi. Ceturtā nodaļa sastāv no apsekoto garāžas kopu apraksta. Piektajā nodaļā aprakstīti un salīdzināti garāžu kopu tipi pēc dažādiem parametriem. Savukārt sestā nodaļa sniedz ieskatu garāžu kopu sociālajā dzīvē.

| dc.description.abstract | The topic of bachelor thesis is „Garage area of cultural geography; Riga case”. The research focuses on garage areas throughout the territory of Riga city. The aim of research is to perform mapping of Riga garage areas and compare its structure and to analyze social life of garage areas. The paper is based on observations and field studies, as well as on interviews with garage owners and experts.
The paper consists of six chapters. The first chapter discusses the historical aspects of garage areas. The second chapter lists research methods and course materials. The third chapter describes who owns garage areas in Riga, garage rental and other transactions. The fourth chapter describes the surveyed garage areas. The fifth chapter describes and compares the garage area types according to different parameters. The sixth chapter gives an insight into the social life of the garage areas.
