Šī darba ietvaros, izmantojot elektropalatogrammu metodi, tika ierakstīta un pētīta latviešu valodas priekšējo mēleņu artikulācija simetriskā patskaņu [i, a, u] fonētiskajā apkaimē.
Atslēgvārdi: fonētika, priekšējie mēleņi, elektropalatogrāfija, palatogrāfija, elektropalatogrammas Electropalatography is a widely used technique which allows to record and analyze the contact of the tongue and the hard palate during the articulation of separate phonemes as well as connected speech. In this research the method of electropalatography was used to record and analyze the articulation of the Latvian coronal consonants in the symmetrical phonetic context of vowels [i, a, u]. Electropalatograms obtained in this study were compared with the results of the static palatography used by Alise Laua in her dissertation “The Phonetic Phonological System of Contemporary Latvian Literary Language” and with the data of some investigations found in the scientific literature. In the beginning of this paper the review of the literature about the history and the use of the static palatography and the electropalatography is given, as well as a comparison of these two methods.
