Valmieras integrētās bibliotēkas loma lietotāju informācijpratības veicināšanā

Abstract

Maģistra darbs veikts ar mērķi izvērtēt Valmieras integrētās bibliotēkas (VIB) lomu lietotāju informācijpratības veicināšanā, tādējādi ietekmējot sabiedrības zināšanas, kā arī noskaidrot, vai piedāvātie pakalpojumi, kuri ir saistīti ar informācijpratību, ir pieprasīti un kvalitātīvi. Problēmsituāciju rada nevis informācijas trūkums, bet gan neprasme un nevēlēšanās tajā orientēties. Tajā pašā laikā pastāv vairāki faktori, kuri traucē iegūt kvalitatīvu informāciju un ietekmē lietotāja informācijpratību, piemēram, zems zināšanu un prasmju līmenis, finansiālais nodrošinājums, izglītības līmenis, valodas barjera, informācijas un komunikāciju tehnoloģiju (IKT) izmantošanas iespēju trūkums u.c. Atslēgvārdi: bibliotēkas pakalpojumi, datorpratība, informācijpratība, interneta izmantošana, informācijas un komunikāciju tehnoloģijas.

Research for this master paper has been carried out in order to evaluate the role of Valmiera Joint Library in developing information literacy of its users, as well as to find out whether the offered services that are related to information literacy are in demand and of good quality. A problem situation is created not because of lack of information but because of inability and unwillingness to orientate oneself in it. Simultaneously there are several factors that prevent from acquiring quality information and influence user’s information literacy, for example, poor knowledge and skills, financial means, education level, language barrier, having no possibility to use information and communication technologies (ICT), etc. Key words: library services, computer literacy, information literacy, use of the internet, information and communication technologies.
