Vispārējo XXIV latviešu Dziesmu un XIV Deju svētku reprezentācija laikrakstos "Diena", "Latvijas Avīze" un "Neatkarīgā Rīta Avīze" (2008. gada 1.–16. jūlijs)

Abstract

Bakalaura darba mērķis ir noteikt, kā laikraksti "Diena", "Latvijas Avīze" un "Neatkarīgā Rīta Avīze" reprezentē Vispārējos XXIV latviešu Dziesmu un XIV Deju svētkus un kādas nozīmes tiem piešķir. Darbā izklāstītas reprezentācijas, nācijas un nacionālās identitātes, mediju rituāla un mediju notikuma teorijas, kvantitatīvās kontentanalīzes un diskursa vēsturiskās analīzes metodes. Pētījuma rezultāti atklāj, ka laikraksti, reprezentējot svētkus kā svarīgu latviešu tautas un Latvijas eksistences pamatelementu, konstruē pozitīvas un emocionāla rakstura nozīmes, taču atainojumā ieplūst ekonomiska un politiska rakstura aspekti.

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to find out how the newspapers "Diena", "Latvijas Avīze" and "Neatkarīgā Rīta Avīze" represent the Nationwide XXIV Latvian Song and XIV Dance Festival and what meanings are assigned to it. Representation, nation and national identity, media ritual and media event theories, quantitative content analysis and discourse-historical approach methods are expounded in the paper. The findings reveal that the newspapers represent the Festival as a relevant staple of Latvian and Latvia’s existence by constructing positive and emotional meanings, however economic and politic aspects affect the representation.
