Atslēgvārdi: ķermeņa diskurss, diskursa interpretācija, tiešsaistes feminisms, “FEMEN”, “facebook.com” The research problem of the bachelor thesis “Body discourse in the “facebook.com” communication of the international women's movement “FEMEN” is the change of function of the body in the body discourse of “FEMEN”.
The objective of the thesis is to determine the function of the women’s body in the body discourse of “FEMEN”.
The theoretical part contains the modern and radical perspectives of the body, Judith Butler's division of passive and active bodies, and chapters about the international women's movement “FEMEN” and online feminism.
A discourse analysis of 30 photographs, their captions and comments from “FEMEN's” Facebook page was carried out using Allan Bell's discourse interpretation method.
Based on the results, it can be concluded that “FEMEN” in their Facebook communication use three types of body discourses: the aggressive protest discourse, the condemning discourse and victim discourse. The function of the body in these discourses is sending a message.
Key terms: body discourse, discourse interpretation, online feminism, “FEMEN”, “facebook.com”
