Spējo prakšu lietojums globāli sadalītā programmatūras izstrādē

Abstract

Globāli sadalīta programmatūras izstrāde kļūst arvien izplatītāka, solot dažādus ieguvumus, bet reizē arī jaunus izaicinājumus, kas nozares speciālistiem jāpārvar ikdienas darbā. Tiek ziņots, ka spējās prakses var veiksmīgi lietot globāli sadalītas izstrādes trūkumu mazināšanai. Tomēr ir maz apkopotas informācijas, kā spējās prakses uzlabo projekta gaitu un kā tās būtu pielietojamas tieši globāli sadalītā izstrādē. Lai rastu atbildes uz šiem jautājumiem, tiek apzinātas globāli sadalītā izstrādes projektā novērotās problēmas un identificētas literatūrā minētās spējās prakses kā to iespējamie risinājumi. Vairākas spējās prakses tiek ieviestas programmatūras izstrādē un to ietekme tiek vērtēta pēc sešiem mēnešiem. Ir iegūti rezultāti, kas apliecina vairāku spējo prakšu lietošanas pozitīvo ietekmi.

Global software development (GSD) is a contemporary trend of the software development industry. It provides several benefits and a number of new chanllenges that must be overcome by the industry professionals daily. Recently more often practitioners report that Agile practices help to solve problems related to GSD challenges of communication, coordination and cooperation. However, little empirical evidence has been gathered so far regarding the advisable approaches of applying Agile practices in the global setting. In order to extend the body of knowledge in this domain the author has conducted a case study of a GSD project where he has applied several Agile practices and has observed the project for half a year while being involved in it. The evience collected so far show positive results when using Agile in GSD.
