Bakalaura darba tēma ir dabas aizsardzības un pilsētas attīstības interešu saskaņošana Mangaļsalā. Ņemot vērā Mangaļsalas izdevīgo novietojumu un prestižo dzīves telpu, tā uzskatāma par impulsu zaļo pilsētu plānošanas kritērijiem, veidojot dabai pietuvinātas dzīvojamās vides modeli. Teritorijai, robežojoties ar Rīgas Brīvostas uzņēmumiem, likumsakarīgi rodas konfliktsituācijas starp ekonomiskajām interesēm un dabas aizsardzību.
