The goal of the present research is to examine the changes in the methodology of ELT and to explore the implementation of web-based computer-assisted language instruction in different teaching contexts. The methods of research include the comparative analysis of the theoretical sources on the theme under discussion, lesson observation and a questionnaire-based research. During the work on the study the author of the paper managed to obtain a better understanding of the ELT methodology, the most recent developments in the field as well as the trends underlying these developments.
