Folksonomijas kā informācijas apstrādes veids

Abstract

Folksonomija kā informācijas apstrādes un organizēšanas veids internetā mūsdienās ir ļoti izplatīta. Tā ļauj darba autoram un citiem interneta lietotājiem savam darbam piešķirt atslēgvārdu – etiķeti, kas informācijas izgūšanas procesā palīdz atlasīt vēlamo informāciju. Diemžēl bieži vien piešķirtie atslēgvārdi ir neadekvāti un neraksturo darba saturu, tā radot lielāku iespēju atlasīt nederīgu informāciju. Pētījuma mērķis bija izpētīt Latvijas portālus, kuri piedāvā folksonomijas iespējas, un noteikt, cik informatīvi ir piešķirtie atslēgvārdi, kā arī noskaidrot, cik populāra lietotāju vidū ir atslēgvārdu piešķiršana jeb demokrātiskā indeksēšana. Rezultātā secināts, ka lietotāju indeksēšana ir labs un ātrs veids, kā apzīmēt informācijas materiālu un atklāt veidu, kā lietotājs uztver šo materiālu, tomēr folksonomijām ir savi trūkumi un nepieciešams ieviest to kontroli.

Nowadays folksonomy, known as a manner of data-processing and organization within the Internet, is very prevalent. The author of the paper and other Internet users are allowed to put a keyword - a tag which helps to sort out the necessary data within the process of information searching. Unfortunately most of the tags given are inappropriate and do not characterize the content of the document causing the possibility to meet useless information. The aim of investigation was to explore Latvian websites which offer the possibilities of folksonomy and to determine how informative the tags are, as well as to find out how popular the allocation of tags (democratic indexing) among the users of websites is. Results shows that user-indexing is a good and quick way how to describe information issue and reveals the way in which the user perceives this issue, however folksonomy has its own shortcomings and it needs to be controlled.
