1.izmantojot speciālo literatūru, izpētīt labvēlīga investīciju klimata būtību;
2.izpētīt ārvalstu tiešo investīciju nozīmi investīciju klimata uzlabošanas procesā;
3.analizēt investīciju klimatu ietekmējošos faktorus;
4.analizēt Latvijas investīciju klimatu makroekonomisko faktoru ietekmi;
5.izmantojot daudzfaktoru regresijas analīzi, atlasīt makroekonomiskos faktorus, kuri ietekmē Latvijas investīciju klimatu;
ja reālais IKP uz vienu iedzīvotāju Latvijā (2000. gada salīdzināmajās cenās) palielināsies par 1 LVL uz vienu iedzīvotāju, tad Latvijā gada laikā saņemtās ĀTI vidēji palielināsies par 9,49 milj. LVL, pieņemot, ka pārējie faktori ir nemainīgi;
ja gada inflācijas līmenis Latvijā pieaugs par 1% pret iepriekšējā perioda atbilstošo periodu, tad Latvijā gada laikā saņemtās ĀTI vidēji samazināsies par 86,87 milj. LVL, pieņemot, ka pārējie faktori ir nemainīgi;
ja ražošanas un importa nodokļi bez subsīdijām Latvijā palielināsies par 1% no IKP, tad gada laikā saņemtās ĀTI vidēji samazināsies par 726,61 milj. LVL, pieņemot, ka pārējie faktori ir nemainīgi.
Atslēgvārdi: investīciju klimats, makroekonomiskie faktori, ārvalstu tiešās investīcijas, konkurētspēja, ekonomiskā attīstība. Graduation thesis ‘Investment Climate and the Analysis of Macroeconomic Factors that Influence it in Latvia’ contains a research of the essence of the favorable investment climate and its importance in the process of the national economic development.
Investment climate is a generalized characteristic of the aggregation of social, economic, organizational, legal and political prerequisites. These prerequisites predetermine the expediency of investing into some economic system. Assessment of the investment attractiveness of the territory is the most important aspect in taking any investment decision. With the unfavorable economic situation in the country, investor’s experience and intuition should be based on the results of the expert assessment of the investment climate.
The investment climate includes objective possibilities of the country (investment potential) and conditions for the investor’s activity (investment risk).
The goal of the Bachelor Thesis is to research the essence of the investment climate and to analyze macroeconomic factors influencing it in Latvia, as well as to make suggestions for the improvement of the investment climate in the country.
In order to reach the goal of the thesis, the author has set the following tasks:
1.using special literature, to research the essence of the favorable investment climate;
2.to research the role of direct foreign investments in the process of improving the investment climate;
3.to analyze factors influencing the investment climate;
4.to analyze the influence of macroeconomic factors on the investment climate in Latvia;
5.using the approach of the multi-factor regression analysis, to select macroeconomic factors influencing the investment policy of Latvia;
6.on the basis of analysis, to develop suggestions for improving the investment climate in Latvia.
The thesis contains macroeconomic and political factors, influencing the national investment environment. In the chapter dedicated to the analysis of the investment environment, the author has selected ten macroeconomic factors, which influence the investment climate in Latvia according to theory. The author has analyzed the econometric multi-factor regression, selecting three macroeconomic factors, which do not inter-correlate and which interaction does not cause heteroscedasticity in the model. With the help of the model, the author of the thesis has concluded that:
-if real GDP per capita in Latvia (comparable prices in 2000) increases by 1 LVL per capita, then FDI received in Latvia for one year will increase on average by 9,49 million LVL, assuming that other factors remain unchanged;
-if the yearly inflation level in Latvia increases by 1% against the relevant period for the previous period, then FDI received in Latvia for one year will decrease by 86,87 million LVL, assuming that other factors remain unchanged;
-if production and import taxes without grants-in-aid increase by 1% of GDP in Latvia, then FDI received for one year will decrease on average by 726,61 million LVL, assuming that other factors remain unchanged.
Key words: investment climate, macroeconomic factors, foreign direct investments, competitive ability, economic development.
