Lai noteiktu, vai valsts ekonomiskā izaugsme apdraud makroekonomisko stabilitāti, ekonomiskās politikas veidošanā parasti tiek izmantota faktiskā un potenciālā ražošanas apjoma starpība.
Dotā bakalaura darba mērķis ir novērtēt Latvijas potenciālo ražošanas apjomu laika posmā no 1995. līdz 2007.gadam un analizēt tā dinamiku un pielietošanas iespējas.
Pētījuma pirmajā nodaļā sniegts teorētiskais pamatojums modeļa izveidošanai.
Otrajā nodaļā aprakstīti pētījumā izmantotie dati, kā arī veikta pašreizējās situācijas analīze.
Trešajā daļā izvērtēts Latvijas potenciālais ražošanas apjoms un aprakstītas iespējamās ekonomikas attīstības tendences.
Darba rezultātā tika secināts, ka pastāv nepieciešamība pārorientēties uz eksportu kā galveno tautsaimniecības attīstības virzītāju.

In order to determine, whether the economical growth threatens the stability of the macroeconomics, in the formation of the economic policy usually the difference between the actual and potential output is used, also known as output gap.
The aim of this bachelor paper is to estimate Latvia’s potential output during the period 1995 to 2007 and to analyze its dynamics and possibilities of usage.
In the first chapter of the paper the theoretical basis for the model’s formation is given.
In the second chapter the data which was used during the study is described, as well as the analysis of the present situation is made.
In the third chapter the potential output of Latvia has been estimated and the tendencies of the possible development of the economics are described.
The main result of the paper is: there is a necessity to reorient ourselves to the export as the main guide of the development of the national economy.
