Vijas upes posmu hidromorfoloģijas kvalitātes novērtējums

Abstract

Maģistra darba mērķis ir izvērtēt un analizēt Vijas upes hidromorfoloģisko kvalitāti un to ietekmējošos faktorus, lai rastu skaidrojumu vizuālajām upes stāvokļu izmaiņām. Kā pamatmetode Vijas upes stāvokļu novērtēšanā tika pielietota upju posmu hidromorfoloģiskā metode – RHS. Papildus tam tika izvērtēti meliorācijas dati pētāmajos posmos, kā arī novērtēts zemes lietojuma veids pētāmajos upes posmos, gan arī upes baseinā. Pētījuma rezultāti parāda, ka pēc upes hidromorfoloģiskās novērtējuma metodes, Vijas upes vide kopumā atbilst labai kvalitātei. Vides modifikācijas indekss parāda, ka upe ir daļēji izmainīta cilvēku saimnieciskās darbības rezultātā. Meliorācijas datu analīze parāda, ka būtiski upi ir ietekmējusi meliorācijas sistēmu izveide, kā arī upju taisnošana. Dominējošais zemes lietojuma veids upes baseinā ir meži (57%) un ganības (17%).

The aim of this Master’s thesis is to ascertain the hydromorphological quality of Vija River’s habitats, as well as factors influencing it, in order to explain visual changes in the state of the river. River Habitat Survey (RHS) was used as a core method in examining the state of habitats in river Vija. Data about land drainage and land use was also used for both the whole basin of the river and sites selected for more detailed study. The results of the RHS survey shows that quality of Vija’s habitats is generally good. Habitat Modifications Index of the river shows that Vija’s habitats are partially changed by human economic activities. Analysis of land drainage data show that significant changes in habitats were brought by creation of drainage system and straightening of the riverbed. Main land uses in Vija basin are forests (57%) and pastures (17%).
