Bebru (Castor fiber) populācijas radītās problēmas Rīgas pilsētas sabiedriskajos apstādījumos

Abstract

Bakalaura darbā „Bebru (Castor fiber) populācijas radītās problēmas Rīgas pilsētas sabiedriskajos apstādījumos” ir apzināti, uzskaitīti, analizēti bebru radītie postījumi Rīgas kanāla, Mārupītes un Zunda kanāla apkaimē, kā arī apskatīti šo postījumu iespējamie novēršanas risinājumi. Ņemot vērā, ka Eiropā un Latvijā bebru skaits turpina pieaugt, bebru ienākšanu pilsētas kanālā varētu uzskatīt par tipisku, tomēr vietas raksturs to padara par unikālu parādību – citviet netiek ietekmēta pilsētvide, bet gan lauku un mežu teritorijas. Bebru radītās problēmas parasti saistās ar bebru dambjiem un appludinātām teritorijām, savukārt šajā gadījumā izpaužas cita veida kaitējums – parku un citu pilsētas zaļo zonu apstādījumu nopostīšana, kam ir drīzāk estētisks raksturs, nekā saimniecisks. In the bachelor work "Problems in the public green areas of Riga city caused by the beaver (Castor fiber) population" there have been identified, listed, analyzed the damage made by beavers in Riga channel, Mārupīte river and Zunda channel surroundings, and considers possible sollutions of preventing this damage. Given that number of beavers in Latvija continiue to grow, beaver entering in the Riga city channel could be considered typical, but the characteristics of the place makes it a unique phenomenon – city environment is affected rather than rural and forest areas. Problems caused by beavers are normally associated with beever dams and flooded areas, while in this case other type of damage occurs – destruction of greenery in parks and other green areas of city, which has rather an aesthetic nature than economic.
