Darbs ietver četras nodaļas, kurās raksturots Vasenieku purvs, tā veidošanās un attīstība. Darba pirmajā nodaļā apskatīti purvu veidošanās un to ietekmējošie faktori. Otrajā nodaļā dots Vasenieku purva vispārīgs raksturojums, trešajā – aprakstītas lauka darbos un laboratorijas pētījumos izmantotās metodes. Ceturtajā nodaļā atspoguļoti un analizēti pētījumos iegūtie rezultāti.
