Tulkojumzinātnes terminoloģija latviešu valodā

Abstract

Pēdējos gados daudzās pasaules valstīs ir ievērojami palielinājusies interese par tulkojumzinātni. Pieaugot Latvijas starptautiskajiem sakariem, jautājumi, kas skar tulkošanas teoriju un praksi, ir kļuvuši aktuāli arī mūsu valstī. Bakalaura darba galvenais mērķis ir izanalizēt tulkojumzinātnes terminoloģiju un ar to saistītos jautājumus no vairākiem aspektiem — vēsturiskā, teorētiskā un praktiskā. Darbā tiek aplūkots teorētiskais materiāls, analizētas atklātās problēmas, ka arī meklēti to praktiskie risinājumi. Lai atklātu tulkojumzinātnes terminoloģijas savdabību un tai raksturīgās īpašības, tiek aplūkoti daudzi tulkojumzinātnes termini angļu valodā un to ekvivalenti latviešu valodā. Galveno tulkošanas jēdzienu glosārijs tiek piedāvāts šī diplomdarba beigās. Darba noslēgumā tiek secināts, ka tulkojumzinātnes terminoloģija latviešu valodā vēl tikai attīstās. Lai gan daudzi tulkošanas speciālisti lieto savus terminus, kas veidoti vienam vai vairākiem zinātniskiem rakstiem, Latvijā jau ir parādījusies tendence izstrādāt īsus tulkošanas terminu glosārijus.

Recently interest in Translation Studies has increased considerably in many states. With Latvia’s growing involvement into the international communication, the issues of the translation theory and practice have become topical here as well. The present diploma paper is aimed at the analysis of the terminology of Translation Studies and the related issues treating them from historical, theoretical and practical aspects. The work includes the overview of the theoretical material on the subject, a comprehensive analysis of revealed problems, and practical approaches to the issue. In order to show the specificity of the terminology used in Translation Studies, a number of the discipline’s terms and their equivalents in Latvian is provided. A glossary of main translation concepts is presented at the end of this paper. The paper is concluded with the idea that the Latvian terminology for Translation Studies is on its way of developing. Although today every translation specialist uses its own terminology that is created for the need of one or more scientific publications, a tendency to develop short glossaries of translation terms has already appeared in Latvia.
